Four ways a German kitchen can look.
Nobilia and Schüller between them cover contemporary handleless, warm modern in real wood, painted Colour Concept and modern country, all built on the same engineered cabinetry. Pick the direction that fits the room, then narrow to a range.
Contemporary handleless
Slim grip-rail cabinetry in matt lacquer or textured stone. Flat fronts, minimal reveals, no visible hardware. Works particularly well in open-plan and loft-style spaces.
Handleless kitchensWarm modern in wood
Schüller Rocca in real oak veneer for a true natural finish, plus Nobilia Riva and Structura in warm wood-effect fronts. Contemporary silhouette softened by grain, book-matched or randomised across the run.
Modern German kitchensPainted Colour Concept
Schüller's 28 Colour Concept shades and Nobilia's 200-plus painted colours across Sylt, Nordic and Cascada. Deep greens, soft sages, warm off-whites and moody navies on shaker or slab.
Luxury German kitchensModern country and cottage
Nobilia Nordic, Sylt and Cascada, Schüller Casa and Finca. Framed fronts, painted lacquer and traditional handles, but built on the same 100kg drawer runners and 8-point hinges as the contemporary programmes.

German kitchen design, the questions we get most.
- How does German kitchen design work if I can't visit a showroom?
- Design is done online with a senior designer. You share your space (dimensions, floorplan or photos), the designer produces CAD plans, elevations and photorealistic 3D renders in the range and finish you're considering, and you iterate together until it's right. All design work is free of charge before you commit.
- Do I pay for the design and 3D renders?
- No. LindenHaus does not charge for design, CAD plans, 3D renders or itemised quotes. You only pay when you place the order for the kitchen itself.
- Which German kitchen style suits a UK period home?
- Both extremes work well - a calm contemporary matt lacquer or a painted shaker in a soft Colour Concept shade. What tends not to work is a mid-price gloss laminate. The most common brief we plan is a modern handleless or slab-front kitchen in a Victorian rear extension, or a painted framed front in a converted stone barn.
- Can I mix handled and handleless in one kitchen?
- Yes. On both Nobilia and Schüller programmes you can specify handleless on some banks (for example the island) and handled on others (for example a tall pantry run) within the same kitchen, provided you stay within a single range family.
- How long does the design process take?
- First round of CAD plans and renders typically comes back within 5 to 10 working days of the initial brief. Total design time from first enquiry to signed-off order depends on how many rounds of iteration you want, but 3 to 5 weeks is typical.
- How much does a designed German kitchen cost in the UK?
- A Nobilia or Schüller kitchen supplied by LindenHaus typically starts from around £6,500 for a compact layout in an entry laminate front, and sits between £10,000 and £22,000 for a mid-sized kitchen in a matt lacquer or textured wood-effect front. Luxury specifications in genuine matt lacquer, real wood veneer or Colour Concept painted sit between £15,000 and £35,000.
