Why a German shaker

A traditional door, built to a very high standard.

A German shaker kitchen keeps the classic five-piece painted door but pairs it with 19mm cabinet carcasses, tandem-box drawers, soft-close hinges and factory-applied lacquer. Same look as a UK shaker, built to a higher spec.

Traditional silhouette, modern engineering

Shaker means a five-piece framed door, usually painted. The German take pairs that traditional silhouette with the same soft-close hinges, tandem-box drawers and precise cabinetry engineering as any handleless range, so it feels contemporary in use even if it looks classic.

28 Colour Concept shades

Schüller Cameo, Casa and Finca are all available in the same 28-colour Colour Concept palette. That means anything from crisp Alpine White through Sage, Olive, Stone Blue, Powder Pink and deep Graphite Black is available in a true painted shaker front.

Warmer textures on request

Casa and Finca add a soft to pronounced wood pore under the lacquer for a country-style feel. Cameo keeps a smooth satin surface for a cleaner, urban-shaker look. All three can be mixed within a single kitchen for tonal zoning between wall units, tall runs and islands.

Factory-direct pricing

Painted shaker fronts are traditionally the most expensive category in a UK kitchen showroom. Supplied factory-direct through LindenHaus, a Schüller shaker kitchen is typically up to 30% cheaper than an equivalent UK-made shaker quote.

Ranges we recommend

Nobilia and Schüller shaker ranges.

Schüller leads on shaker with a three-range programme in the full Colour Concept palette. Nobilia offers framed painted alternatives through Sylt, Frame and Nordic for a slightly softer, less traditional read.

Frequently asked

Shaker German kitchens, the questions we get most.

Do German manufacturers make shaker kitchens?
Yes. Schüller in particular offers a full shaker programme through Cameo (smooth satin), Casa (soft wood pore) and Finca (pronounced rustic pore), all in the 28-shade Colour Concept palette. Nobilia offers framed painted fronts through Sylt, Frame and Nordic.
Is a German shaker kitchen better than a British-made one?
German shakers use the same painted MDF door construction as most UK-made kitchens, but with heavier cabinet carcasses (typically 19mm), stronger hinges, better drawer systems and higher-tolerance factory paint. The finish is longer-lasting, the price is usually lower and the lead time is shorter.
Which colours are available on a Schüller shaker kitchen?
All 28 Schüller Colour Concept shades, including Alpine White, Cashmere, Stone Grey, Sage Green, Olive, Fjord Blue, Slate Blue, Powder Pink, Rust Red and Graphite. Full colour swatches ship with your quote.
How much does a Schüller shaker kitchen cost in the UK?
A painted Schüller shaker kitchen supplied by LindenHaus typically sits between £11,000 and £24,000 delivered, depending on range, cabinet count and finish, before appliances and worktops. Cameo tends to be the entry point, Finca the top of the range.
How long from design to delivery?
Design and CAD usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. Once signed off, Schüller and Nobilia build to order and deliver to mainland UK in 6 to 8 weeks.
