Schüller vs NobiliaAbout the Schüller Lineo range.
Best suited to
- Fluted and grooved feature panels on tall units or islands
- Rooms with standard ceilings that need visual height
- Mixed-programme kitchens using texture as an accent
- Handleless schemes where a handle would break the vertical lines
Lineo is the one Schüller front that changes the geometry of a room rather than just its colour. It is a vertical grooved-look woodgrain laminate, so instead of a flat door face you get a series of fine vertical lines running the full height of the unit. Used on a bank of tall cabinets the effect is to draw the eye upward and make a ceiling feel higher, which is genuinely useful in a standard UK kitchen with a 2.4 metre ceiling.
Two finishes are offered, a Natural Oak effect and a Dark Oak effect. Natural Oak is the softer of the two and works as a full run without dominating. Dark Oak is dramatic and is usually better limited to a feature: a single bank of tall units, an island face, or a run of wall cabinets against a plain matt lacquer elsewhere.
Lineo is frequently used alongside another Schüller programme rather than on its own, because the fluted texture is strong enough that a whole kitchen of it can feel busy. Pairing it with Matera, Salona or Nova gives you texture where you want it and calm everywhere else. It is a price group 1 front, available in handled and handleless configurations, and the grooved profile suits handleless particularly well because there is no handle competing with the vertical lines. Rigid built, fully assembled, 5 year guarantee.
