The most storage per square metre.
Full-height storage in a small footprint
Tall larder towers, corner carousels and 900mm deep drawer bases let a compact layout carry the storage of a much larger kitchen. Nobilia and Schüller both engineer their cabinetry to millimetre tolerances, so no wall length is wasted.
Handleless for visual space
Grip-rail and push-to-open fronts remove protruding handles from the room, which visually widens a small kitchen and stops sleeves and hips catching on cabinetry in tight walkways. Nobilia Touch, Senso and Schüller Matera are all designed with this in mind.
Light, reflective finishes
In a small room the finish does as much work as the layout. Matt or satin light lacquers, warm oak-effect and painted Colour Concept shades bounce light around and make the space feel taller and calmer than a dark timber or high-gloss finish.
Factory-direct on any size
Small kitchens are priced by cabinet count. Because we supply Nobilia and Schüller factory-direct, a compact specification comes in at up to 30% cheaper than a high street showroom quoting the same cabinetry.
Nobilia and Schüller ranges for compact layouts.
A handful of ranges consistently work best in small rooms, either for their light finishes, their handleless fronts, or their painted shaker warmth in period flats.

Small German kitchens, the questions we get most.
- What counts as a small kitchen?
- As a working definition, anything under around 8 linear metres of cabinetry, or a room under roughly 10 square metres. Galley kitchens, apartment kitchens, single-run kitchens and compact L-shapes all fall into this group.
- Which layout works best in a small room?
- A single run against one wall is the simplest and most efficient. A galley (two parallel runs) works from about 2.4m width upwards and gives huge storage per square metre. A compact L-shape works from around 2.5m x 3m upwards. An island is usually not viable under 3.6m x 3m of clear floor.
- Which Nobilia and Schüller ranges suit a small kitchen?
- Handleless ranges like Nobilia Touch, Senso and Schüller Matera keep the room visually calm. Painted shaker ranges like Schüller Cameo or Nobilia Nordic work brilliantly in period flats. Every range is built on the same LGA-tested German cabinetry, so choice is aesthetic rather than structural.
- How much does a small German kitchen cost?
- A small Nobilia or Schüller kitchen supplied by LindenHaus typically sits between £5,000 and £12,000 delivered, depending on cabinet count, finish and range, before appliances and worktops. See the cost guide for a full breakdown.
- How long from design to delivery?
- Design and CAD usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. Once signed off, Nobilia and Schüller build to order and deliver to mainland UK in 6 to 8 weeks.
