Frame is Nobilia's modern cottage front, and the detail that sets it apart from the rest of the country-style programmes is the wood texture. The lacquer laminate surface carries a visible grain running through the colour, so the door has the tactility of a painted timber front rather than the flat, slightly plastic look that budget framed doors usually give you. The frame profile itself is softly proportioned and shallow, closer to Scandinavian country than to a heavy English shaker, which is why it settles just as comfortably into a new build as into a period cottage.
Four colours are offered under programme 419: White wood texture (613), Stone blue wood texture (614), Olive wood texture (617) and Macchiato wood texture (619). Stone blue and Olive are the two we specify most often in the UK, normally on the island or the base run with White above to keep the room light. Macchiato is the warmest of the four and works well against oak flooring and brass or bronze hardware.
Practically, laminate is the right call for a framed door. A hand-painted timber shaker will chip along the frame edges and around the sink within a few years and needs touching up. Frame takes steam, knocks and everyday cleaning products without marking, and the colour will not fade unevenly. Cabinets arrive rigid built and fully assembled, not flatpack, with the same carcase construction, Sensys hinges and drawer boxes used across the more expensive Nobilia programmes, backed by the 10 year manufacturer guarantee. Cast iron and bar handles, glazed wall cabinets, plate racks and open shelving are all available if you want to lean into the cottage detailing, or you can keep the hardware plain for a quieter transitional scheme.
