Schüller vs NobiliaAbout the Schüller Modena range.
Best suited to
- Timber-look kitchens across cool, mid and dark tones
- Warm islands and tall banks against pale matt lacquer
- Price group 1 budgets wanting a genuine woodgrain scheme
- Small kitchens using the pale Ash Nordic finish
Modena is the most versatile woodgrain laminate Schüller makes, largely because of the spread of its four finishes. Ash Nordic is cool and pale, close to a limed ash, and suits a Scandinavian scheme. Skagen Oak is mid-toned and characterful. Oak Cognac Brown is warm and rich. Bergamo Walnut is the darkest, reading almost chocolate under warm light. Between them they cover most of the timber-look briefs we receive.
Because Modena sits in price group 1, it is frequently the answer when a client wants a timber island or a full timber kitchen but the budget will not stretch to Avola or a real veneer such as Rocca. The carcase, hinges and drawer runners are identical to the fronts several price groups above, so the saving is entirely in the door surface rather than in the build.
The most common specification we quote is a Modena island or tall bank against a pale matt lacquer run, usually Matera or Salona. That combination gives a room a clear warm anchor without the cost of a full timber kitchen. A whole kitchen in Ash Nordic also works very well in a smaller space, where the pale grain keeps the units light. Handled and handleless configurations are both available. Rigid built cabinets, fully assembled delivery, 5 year Schüller guarantee, typically 8 to 12 weeks.
