Schüller vs NobiliaAbout the Nobilia Touch range.
Best suited to
- Calm, mid-budget matt kitchens in neutral tones
- Transitional schemes that can go handled or handleless
- Utility and boot rooms matched to the main kitchen
- Buyers who want more depth of colour than an entry-band front gives
Touch is the programme people choose when Laser is nearly right but the finish is not quite deep enough. It is a matt lacquer-laminate slab front in price group 3, and the difference you are paying for is entirely in the surface: a smoother, denser matt with more depth to the colour and a softer hand feel, closer to a sprayed lacquer than a laminate.
Programme 334 offers five colours: Alpine White Matt (332), Ivory Matt (336), Satin Grey Matt (338), Slate Grey Matt (334) and Aqua Matt (337). Four of those are quiet neutrals that will still look current in fifteen years. Aqua is the one that gives the range its character, a muted blue-green that is far more restrained in person than the name suggests and works beautifully as an island colour against Alpine White perimeter units.
Slab geometry means Touch handles both directions of styling. Specify it with slim bar handles for a transitional scheme, or with grip rails and handleless profiles for something strictly modern. It is a particularly good choice for utility rooms, boot rooms and boiler cupboards run in matching finish to the main kitchen, because the matt laminate copes with wet coats, muddy boots and repeated cleaning better than a painted door would. Worth knowing: Touch is a standard matt rather than an anti-fingerprint surface, so in a very dark colour on a busy family kitchen you will see the occasional mark. If that matters, Senso and Easytouch are the AFP alternatives. Cabinets are rigid built, delivered fully assembled, and carry the 10 year Nobilia guarantee.
